Welcome to my bio page.
I've been taking pictures ever since I was old enough to remember. I was raised by parent's who also always seemed to have a camera in their hands so I guess it's kind of "in the genes".
I took my first photography class in high school and have been hooked ever since. I experienced 2 years of darkroom while in school and though I loved the experience, in a world that's becoming so much more technologically advanced each day, I've chosen to go digital...in my photography and my darkroom.
When I was 19 years old, my dad gave me his old & quite used manual Minolta. I took another photography class after high school with my mom on the manual use of this camera. I used it for years afterwards until the camera disappeared in a move. I didn't buy another camera until a few years later and when I did, I chose to go with Nikon as that was the brand my dad had always used. I "relearned" all that I had forgotten about manual photography and shot an incredible amount of film with my entry level Nikon. After about three years of film and the promise that I would never stop using it, I finally made the jump to the digital world and purchased a Nikon D200. In the time that I've had this camera, I have truly enjoyed the experience, more than I ever thought I could.
Even though I believe film will always have a certain feel that you can't necessarily get from digital, I am so pleased with all of the new things I've learned about photography. The ability to learn new technique's and try new things much faster is a huge advantage to shooting digital.
I have chosen to spend my time participating in as many different types of photography as I can. I love B&W portraiture, landscape photography, abstract & close up photography and also wildlife and nature photography. Take a peek at some of the galleries and if you’re interested in purchasing prints, you may do so.
